I completed my B.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran in 1998 and 2000, respectively. I was an analog and mixed signal design engineer in Valence Semiconductor, Dubai, UAE from 2000 to 2002 where I worked on low-power delta-sigma modulators and the system level design of a voice Codec. I received my Ph.D. degree at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada in 2006 on the design and analysis of low-power static random access memories (SRAMs). I was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in CMOS Design and Reliability Group (CDR) at the University of Waterloo in 2007. I came back to Iran in late 2007. I worked with Ferdowsi University of Mashad, Mashad, Iran, in 2007 as a part time lecturer. Later on, I joined Micro Electronics Research and Development Center of Iran (MERDCI) as a Senior Research Associate in 2008 where I worked on VLSI circuits for SmartCard applications. I am currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. My current research is on low-power SRAM circuits and architectures, and smart card co-processors. Dr. Sharifkhani's research has led to several publications and two US patents. I was a vice-chair in IEEE student branch at the University of Tehran in 1998. My complete resume can be found here. My current area of research is: · Embedded Semicon. Memory Circuits and Architecture for VLSI · Data Converters · Digital VLSI Circuits and Systems · Wireless Communication Circuits and Systems · Video Processing Embedded Systems In Feb. 2009, I became the program director of a 1.4M$ project funded by IRIB. The project was aimed to design a DVB-T receiver including its integrated Silicon Tuner, Demodulator and the entire set-top-box. The project involved some 20 grad students and engineers. The project ended in Summer 2011. It ranked 3rd in the National Khwarizimi Science and Technology Contest. In Dec. 2010, I became the Chair of the Communication and Public Affairs Office of the University. In 2012, I and my friend Dr. Mohammad Ali Safari co-founded startup company Sima Rayan Sharif (SIMRA) who is the owner of Telewebion.com the leading brand of the Persian language premium video content streaming service. I was the C.E.O of the company for two years before it is sold to Rahnema Co. In 2014, I became the manager of the Sharif University of Technology research centers program. The aim of the program is to promote the industrial relationship of the university. In 2015, I was the C.E.O Soroush Rasaneh and later on I was the head of the Audio Visual Regulation Authority of IRIB. Bright, diligent and interested students are encouraged to communicate with me for potential collaborations on these areas. However, before you send me an email, please have a look at the information that you need to know before you express your interest. |
